Are You Sharing With Others? - Gerry Eaves

Gerry's challenge to the class is: have you allowed the Lord to put one person on your heart to encourage to attend church? And are you willing and ready to share the Good News of the Gospel? Have you turned your fear of rejection over to the Lord, so that you will be ready to speak up and tell the truth to the lost man?

…an invitation for you!
Sunday School is one of those wonderful opportunities that the local church offers to sit down with others and listen to the Word of God being presented. Praise the Lord, He uses all kinds of personalities and gifts to share His Truth. In small group, you have the freedom to speak up and ask questions, give the teacher feedback and at the same time get to know other people. Even with the busy world of activity, work and other responsibilities, we need friends and fellowship!

Bernadine teaches a ladies class in Room B101 (That’s Bldg. B – behind the Chapel building), at 8:00 A.M. Yep, that’s early, but you may find it is well worth it. Sleeping in is an idea that we invite easily with the hectic lives we all live. Yet, I have found that my investment in the lives of other women causes me to rise early on Sunday…leave my house in Atlanta at 7:20.

Wes and Bernadine attend the 9:30 worship service and then co-teach at 11:00 in A161. Doing double duty and getting to church so early is not sacrificial…it is rewarding, a blessing, a calling, and fulfills a desire to share these sunset years with others. (Actually, Wes is teaching a special class for the next 11 weeks…dealing with TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS). Our assistant teacher, Jeff LeBlanc will be teaming with me while Wes is away.

We would welcome our meeting as a gift! Although you do not know us, we would love to share our life with you through the friendship we can form through small group for Ladies or the class that Wes and I co-teach!

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES:

Being and feeling connected requires an investment. YOUR class gives you that wonderful investment opportunity. YOU are needed!
1.Read the blog and encourage other members (absentees especially) and visitors to read it.
2.Volunteer to help with our planned class activities.
3. Lunch after class with class members ever so often.
4. Make contacts (calls, e-mails, visits) absentees and visitors.
5.Bring snacks for class on Sunday - If everyone signed up, there would be only two Sundays in the year that you would have the opportunity to bless your class members.
6. Volunteer to prepare a meal for a family who needs encouragement.
7. Keep your class roll handy so you can readily contact!
8. PRAY! for one another - if you are connected, you will KNOW how to pray for another.
9. VOLUNTEER to be Care Group Leaders!

These lesson notes could be very helpful if you consider that you, too, will disciple others: "And the [instructions] which you have heard from me, along with many witnesses, transmit and entrust (as a deposit) to reliable and faithful men who will be competent and qualified to teach others also." II Tim. 2:2
The notes print out nicely and would make a helpful, handy notebook for future reference.
