I Cor. 2:16,6:19-20
The way you and I treat and use our temples is very important as the Lord "conforms us to the image of His Son." When we do not treat nor act as a Christian, the Lord will cleanse your temple...involves chastisement! Just as the Lord cleansed the temple (literal temple) of the moneychangers, He will chastise us for sin.
The Lord gives us responsibility and He declares His responsibility. In effect, the Scripture teaches us "I'll do this, IF you do that!"
I Cor. 11:28 admonishes us to examine ourselves. IF we examine our self the Lord will not. I judge and He does not have to judge me. Wrong actions and wrong attitudes always come from wrong thinking. We must "take every thought captive" or it will become my permanent thinking. Consistly examine your thinking and practice daily, moment-by-moment taking intruding thoughts captive. Focus on renewing your mind daily!!
Romans 12:1-2 Aside from the world's philosophy, Satan can place intruding thoughts (fiery darts) in your mind and you and I can take them captive at that very moment. Ultimately this will lead to sin...check out James 1 "when lust is conceived, it brings forth _________". A wrong thought, when conceived, will always give birth to sin - wrong actions!
Satan places snares in the individual life. Examine your lilfe and let God reveal just what BAIT Satan dangles in front of you.
We MUST be cooperative in this process of temple cleansing. There is always purpose when Jesus ENTERS and CLEANSES a temple. Our part is to make the right CHOICE! The Lord's part is His gracious gift of the power to fulfill the choice we make. You CHOOSE, He makes it happen.
YOUR CHOICES:
1. ...to be a temple of one who is in PURSUIT of God's plan for your life. His Plan is based on making Him your priority! "Love the Lord thy God with ALL __________________________"
2. ...to be a temple in PURSUIT of His Word. "Thy Word have I hidden in my heart that I might not ___________________" And II Tim. 2:15
3. ...to be a temple of PURITY. [Romans - He would have us to be simple regarding evil and wise regarding good!]
4. ...to be a temple of PRAYER. "Pray without ceasing".
5. ...to be a temple of PRAISE. Psalm 72 "..bless...praise Him all the day long."
Hebrews 13:15
6. ...to be a temple of POWER
Ephesians 1:19 "without Me, you can do nothing!" BUT Phil. 4:13
Col. 1:11
7. ...to be a temple of PROCLAMATION
Based on I Tim. 2:1-7 I am a witness
*It is the desire of God that all men be saved.
*He has made Provision!
*It is my calling
Your loudest proclamation is your WALK! Your life will be a living testimony.
I Peter 2:9 BUT we must be a verbal testimony as well...
"let the redeemed of the Lord say so!"
Life is an unending string of CHOICES. Choices are critical and making the wrong choice bears difficult and long lasting consequences. Esau - an example of consequences of wrong choices! Hebrews 12:17
In a nutshell, it all boils down to this: It is living my life in the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results to God. Be a man or a woman who makes the right choices! Make that choice--Be a man or woman commited to be a temple who is
In PURSUIT of His Plan for your life...He is your priority!
In PURSUIT of His Word
Given to PURITY
A person of PRAYER without ceasing
PRAISE
POWER
PROCLAMATION.
I know the Lord will honor your motive and your CHOICES and you and all those you meet will be richly blessed!
