Wes and I are praying that each of you will join us EVERY week. When you are absent, we hope that you will check out this blog and keep up with the class on putting this "building of the basics" together. We are asking the Lord to use these studies in each of our lives. Your beliefs will be clarified, simplified, refined and sanitized.
Years ago an 'instrumental to our lives' preacher gave us access to the basic doctrines that we are teaching. He said, "If you will study these, you will have a better handle on the Word than most people who exit from seminary!"
As for me, Bernadine, [having been saved since a teen-ager and that was a lot of years ago] found that studying the basic doctrines gives a firm foundation. The study brings puzzling thoughts into focus and sharpens discernment of when false concepts come into your territory. Perhaps in your basic understanding of your relationship with the Lord you have reached wrong conclusions. Perhaps through rugged experiences, you have arrived at wrong conclusions. These studies should expose the untruths that one accepts without question and cause us to question and correct.
