Luke 4:1-14
An effective witness must be spiritually prepared. We addressed Jesus' dialogue with the devil after 40 days without sustenance. The Lord was hungry and thirsty - "our High Priest was tempted in all ways as we are - without sin!" Pastor Johnny had spoken earlier about we are the "food" to others. As a confirmation of his report, we mentioned that the Lord asked Peter "do you love Me?" 3 times and each time when Peter said "Yes", the Lord said "feed my sheep!" We MUST be fed upon the Word and the Lord's movement in our hearts through our alone time with Him that we might become "food" for others. How is your supply? Are you spending time with the Lord in a daily quiet time and continuing in a state of "prayer without ceasing" for the day? That is the time that you will truly become His witness - Acts 1:8 [If you missed Sunday's sermon, I suggest that you visit the First Baptist site and listen to it.
OUTREACH is such an important element of our Sunday School structure: 1. REACH 2. TEACH 3. MINISTER Each of you were given someone to contact this week - OUTREACH! How about those in your Care Group? Many absentees need to know that they are missed. They say that a 2 1/2 minute telephone call does a miracle in the ministry of a Sunday School class. How about YOU making that a reality for our class?

Let us all, as many as possible, meet at the War Room this Wednesday and personally go see these that have not been coming to our SS Class. After the visit, let us follow up with a card to either thank them or let them know that we missed them. Bernie do you know if the church has a follow up note card for us to use after a visit. Also, If you cannot make it this Wednesday then try to make it part of your priority to be there at least twice a Month. We have so many people who have been coming to our church.
Let's Love LOUD with our actions outside of our SS class and let these great people know that they are important to us and that we love them. With a grateful heart. Mike W
